Exceptional customer service

We have always had excellent customer service at The Tire Warehouse in Lewiston (Lisbon St) and felt that we?ve been treated fairly with good pricing on quality products?that is until today. My husband wanted to have his summer tires on his truck switched over to his snow tires (which are already mounted on rims and balanced). He went to the store to make an appointment and the person he spoke with, Nathan, noted that he could squeeze in the truck in between other appointments but to hurry to pick up the tires from home. When my husband returned, the technician, Nathan, demanded $100 cash, no check or credit card would be accepted. The guy argued about the cost that to us seemed to be excessive considering that the job was more like a rotation. When my husband noted he didn?t have that cash on him, Nathan told him to either go to the ATM up the road or go home to get cash. We are always willing to pay a fair price for services but to be ordered to either go home or to the ATM to get cash sounded completely wrong and his attitude was completely out of line. Nathan never said that the computer or the credit card machine was down or anything like that so it seems to us as though someone is trying to do something shady. After my husband?s incident at the garage, I called the location to speak with the store manager who turned out to be?Nathan, manager of the day! He yelled at me and spoke over me when I was calling him out on the cash or nothing comment. He said he never said that and yelled again when I said that was the impression my husband had when he left. We called our regular garage who will charge us much less. Needless to say, we will not be patronizing the Lisbon St location anymore. Update: after the incident, I called the Auburn location for information and Blake was so friendly and accommodating. He indicated that the service I was requesting was a simple rotation which carried minimal charge if the tires needed balancing, otherwise there was no charge. He also gladly provided the phone number for TW?s headquarters. What a different experience from the Lisbon St location!! Thank you Blake for providing friendly, helpful customer service!! Lastly, I called TW headquarters and reported Nathan. HQ was very nice and took my call seriously. I appreciated their efforts to look at this as an improvement opportunity. Based on my experiences with Blake in Auburn and with HQ, I would add at least another two or three stars to the rating but the original Lewiston experience was horrible.....Read More
